This spring, the Charlotte Helen Bacon Foundation is bringing our StoryWalk® to the Fairfield Hills campus in Newtown, CT.

StoryWalk® is an innovative and delightful way for children — and adults! — to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time.  The goal of the program is to promote literacy, entertain families and provide a safe, socially distanced activity for the community during these difficult times.

On April 10th-18th, 2021, you and your family can follow along with Charlotte’s story, as she embarks on adventures and learns to love to read, in the children’s book “Good Dogs, Great Listeners.

This self-directed walk can be done on your own time, at your own pace, on the woodland trail in Fairfield Hills over the 10-day period.

Parking is available at the public lot off of Mile Hill Drive near Cochran House on Fairfield hill Campus. Once parked, walk past the baseball fields to begin your StoryWalk.

StoryWalk® was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and has developed with the help of Rachel Senechal, Kellogg-Hubbard Library.
