Alright Santa…we don’t know how you manage to deliver toys to millions of children in one night, but in our second ‘Season of Giving’ toy drive, the Newtown Kindness sleigh has completed delivery to over 2,000 children this holiday season!  In an effort to facilitate our own organizational Acts of Kindness, NK will continue to be role models of giving and compassion for many years to come in honor of Charlotte Bacon.6 of our 7 Newtown Kindness toy drops are complete including: The Bridgeport Temple Church, The Boston Children’s Hospital, The Evergreen Network Foundation in Fairfield CT, Yorktown Assembly of God Church, Family and Children’s Aid in Danbury CT, The Riverside Church in Harlem NY, and The Lakota Tribe of the One Spirit Pine Ridge Reservation in Rapid City SD.  These deliveries will ultimately support over 2,000 children with toys for the holidays as well as over 1,000 hand-knitted infant hats for the winter!  The reach of recipients in need will extend to:

  • Under-privileged children throughout CT and NY
  • Children in Haiti
  • Children impacted by Hurricane Sandy
  • Kids under-going treatment at the Boston Hospital during the holidays
  • Children affected by HIV/AIDS
  • The Lakota Tribe in South Dakota

The ‘Season of Giving’ could not be possible without the amazing Fairfield, Trumbull, and Westport Police leading the toy drives.  Thank you to WB Meyer for providing transportation and logistics.  Many thanks to our Newtown Kindness Director of Program Support, Ken Murdoch, who is a leader in kindness and makes all of this possible.  Lastly, THANK YOU to all of the generous and giving souls out there who support others in a time of need!

Nick Hoffman (Family and Children’s Aid in Danbury, CT) was quoted, “Thank you for everything this year. You could see the reactions of the parents as they walked in the room, their anxiety was replaced by joy and for some punctuated with tears. It is an honor to be part of this effort and to help spread kindness throughout our community.”

Think Kindly and Act Boldly with toy deliveries this holiday season!
